LIMERICK based artist Dave Clancy is set to perform at the Record Room, The Commercial on Friday September 12, following the release of his second album, Live Our Own Dream, in April. The show will be opened by singer/songwriter Triona Horan.
Building on the success of his 2020 debut The Path, Clancy continues to deliver emotionally resonant, richly melodic folk music that draws comparisons to Nick Drake, while maintaining deep roots in Irish folk.
A gifted multi-instrumentalist, Clancy layers his finger-style guitar and heartfelt vocals with piano, organ, synth, and pedal steel guitar.
His latest record features an impressive line-up of guest musicians, including Eoin Wynne (The Half Room), Conor McCreanor (Foy Vance, Gretchen Peters), Eamon Murray (Beoga), Fergal Scahill, Nicola Joyce (The Whileaways), Maria Ryan (Stung), and Matthew Berrill.
The album, co-produced and engineered by Eamon Brady and Liam Caffrey, has been praised by Hot Press, which stated:
“Clancy’s intimate, almost confessional songs suggest that all has not gone swimmingly in his affairs of the heart; his lovelorn turmoil, however, has delivered a rich creative seam, which the singer mines to telling effect.”
