ON THE golf front, several local clubs have achieved success of late in various Munster West finals.
Newcastle West GC claimed the AIG Pierce Purcell Shield pennant, defeating Mahon in a playoff on the 20th hole at Adare Manor.
At the same venue, Ballyneety GC won the Intermediate Foursomes pennant with a 2.5 to 1.5 victory over Kanturk at Adare Manor GC.
Shannon GC are the Men’s Jimmy Bruen Shield winners after a 3 to 1 victory over Doneraile at Woodstock GC.
Also there, BallyneetyGC annexed the Women’s Minor Foursomes title with a 3.5 to 0.5 success over Ballyheigue Castle GC.
It was also the venue for the win by Adare Manor GC of the Irish Mixed Four-ball title after a 3.5 to 0.5 victory over Berehaven GC.
Adare Manor have also claimed victory in U19 Inter Club Qualifiers with 80 Stableford points at Kanturk GC.
