Six Limerick projects get Generation Green funding

SSE Airtricity has announced over โ‚ฌ200,000 in funding for six projects across Limerick through its Generation Green Community Fund.

These projects are among 56 community-led sustainability initiatives across Ireland to receive full funding through the โ‚ฌ5 million fund.

The fully funded initiatives aim to support community resilience planning, promote community environmental programmes, and advance sustainable infrastructure development in local areas; while encouraging long-term environmental stewardship and inclusive community engagement.

The six Limerick projects to receive funding include: Manor Fields, Adare; TASC (Think-tank for Action on Social Change); Burrenbeo Trust; ACT (Accelerating Change Together); Irish Schools Sustainability Network; and Teen-Turn.

“This initiative will foster a just transition, raise living standards and scale up climate action nationwide,” said Dr Shana Cohen, executive director of TASC.
