GARDAÍ appealed for witnesses following an aggravated burglary and criminal damage at a house and a caravan located in separate locations on the outskirts of Limerick City.
The alleged violence and anti-social behaviour occurred late this past Friday night and early this Saturday morning, Gardaí confirmed.
“Gardaí received reports that at approximately 11.55pm a number of individuals forced entry into a house on Shanabooley Road, Ballynanty, and caused damage to the property,” a Garda spokesman said.
The Garda spokesman added that the “individuals fled the scene in two cars”.
Garsdaí said a “second incident of criminal damage occurred later at approximately 1am, at a site on the Dublin Road, when damage was caused to a caravan”.
“Both of these locations are under examination by crime scene investigators.”
Gardaí said they were not aware of anyone being injured in either of the two incidents, and are investigating if the two crimes are linked.
“Enquiries into these incidents are ongoing,” the Garda spokesman added.
Appealing for information, he said that: “Any road users who may have camera footage (including dashcam) and were travelling in the Ballynanty and Groody areas of Limerick between 11.30pm on the 22nd (of August) into 1.30am on the 23rd are asked to make this footage available.”
“Gardaí are particularly looking for information on the movements of two cars that were travelling in these areas at the time these incidents occurred.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Henry Street Garda Station 061 212 400 the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.
