
YOUNG musicians from across the county were hitting all the night notes at the 2025 Comhaltas Ceoltรณirรญ รireann All Ireland Fleadh Cheoil.
A string of awards were brought back to the Treaty throughout a wide range of categories from the Fleadh Cheoil, held recently in Wexford, amid an exciting week of concerts, competitions, craic, impromptu sessions, and even a surprise performance from Ed Sheeran.
The streets of Wexford overflowed with the sounds of traditional Irish music, as 800,000 people visited the town throughout the Fleadh, with the prized young Limerick musicians leading the craic agus ceol.
More than 20 awards were won by Limerick musicians from slow airs on the uilleann pipes to eight-hand ceilรญ dancing.
An impressive five awards went to Clara Nรญ Choileรกin, of Comhaltas Ceoltรณirรญ รireann (CCร) Castleconnell Ahane Herbertstown for piano, whistle, piano accordion, and trios (with Clare Nรญc Ionnrachtaigh and Eoin ร HAolรกin).
Of the same CCร, four awards went to Emma Sinรฉad Nรญ Choileรกin for flute, whistle, and trios, with Orlaith Nรญ hInse and Pรกidรญ De Blacรบil โ who also took home an award for the uilleann pipes. Liam Mac Giobรบn won two awards on uilleann pips and the harp.
From Garryowen Comhaltas, sisters Lia and Sadhbh Jordan took home prizes in the U18 mouth organ category.
Other winners locally included Cรกit Nรญ Ghรบinรญ, Marcus ร Murchรบ, Micheรกl MacGabhann, Gearรณid De Barra, Ciarรกn ร Conail, รde Nic Gabhann, Micheรกl MacGabhann, Brynn Nรญ Dhulaรญoch, Clare Nรญc Ionnrachtaigh, Seosamh O Murchรบ, and Sรฉamus ร hEithir.
