LABOUR councillor Joe Leddin wants to see the introduction of a reduced speed limit on the Ballinacurra Road and O’Connell Avenue.

Cllr Leddin is calling for the speed limit to drop from 50km to 30km to align with the new limit in the city centre.

The City West representative was informed that Limerick City and County Council will be conducting a comprehensive review of speed limits across the city and county following the publication of new national guidelines by the Department of Transport.

As part of this review, the Council will assess whether a 30km speed limit is appropriate for Ballinacurra Road and O’Connell Avenue.
