OVER €265,000 in funding has been allocated to seven projects in Limerick to improve outdoor recreational facilities.
The funding is being provided as part of the Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme and will be used to invest in walking trails, cycleways, and mountain access routes.
Ballylanders Multi-Access Walkway and Templeglantine Riverside Walking Trail have each received €50,000 in funding, while Ballyhoura Community Pump Track and Kilmoylan Nature Walk will see a boost of €36,360 and €36,000 respectively.
There will also be €35,100 worth of investment in public lighting of the Limerick Greenway Link from Newcastle West town centre at Bishops Court to the Greenway trailhead.
