THE Irish Blood Transfusion Service (IBTS) has asked the people of Limerick to donate blood after the recent hot weather spell led to a “noticeable drop” in donations.
“With hospitals still requiring a steady supply of blood every day, the IBTS is asking regular donors and new volunteers to consider deferring just an hour in the sun to make a life-saving difference,” the service said.
On August 25 and 26, the Castletroy Park Hotel will play host to donation clinics from 4.20pm to 7.40pm.
And the Devon Inn in Templeglantine will host clinics from 4.50pm to 8.10pm on August 27 and 28.
