Munster seek Interpro C’ship title in thrilling final

MUNSTER collide with holders Leinster in the Women’s Interprovincial Rugby Championship final at Energia Park, Dublin, this Saturday at 4.30pm.

Matt Brown’s side arrive centre stage following wins over Connacht (44-5), Leinster (22-33) and Ulster (17-38).

In the earlier outing between the pair, Munster secured a bonus point win over the holders in the capital.

In fine try scoring have been Chisom Ugwuerum (5), vice-captain Chloe Pearse (3), captain Maeve Óg O’Leary (2), and Kate Flannery (2).

Teenager Caitríona Finn has been the star performer for The Reds this season, both in general play and off the boot.

Since the c’ship inception back in 1999, Munster have reigned supreme on a record 15 occasions, and are followed in the roll of honour by Leinster (8) and Ulster (1).

Connacht have never won the title.

Brown is joined on the coaching ticket by Niamh Briggs, Leah Lyons, and Eddie Fraher.

Kenneth Mills has responsibility for Strength and Conditioning, while Ciarán Purcell and Amy O’Mahony are in charge of physio.

Pierce Ryan continues in his role as analyst.
