Council proposal for over 20 new homes in Moyross

The proposed new development would include 10 three-bedroomed, five-person maisonettes - which are self-contained flats or apartments often spread over two floors, with their own internal staircase and a separate entrance directly from the street.

LIMERICK City and County Council has submitted a proposal for planning which could see the development of 22 new homes set for the outskirts of Limerick City.

Based in Cosgrave Park in Moyross, the proposed new development would include 10 three-bedroomed, five-person maisonettes – which are self-contained flats or apartments often spread over two floors, with their own internal staircase and a separate entrance directly from the street.

Two out of the five maisonettes would be designed to universal design standards.

There are also plans for nine two-bed apartments and a two-storey block, which would consist of two-bedroom maisonettes and two one-bedroom apartments on the corner site fronting onto Sarsfield Gardens and Cosgrave Park, a statement on the proposal on the Council’s website explaned.

The Council statement said that the plans also include the provision of nine on-street parking spaces and six bike parking spaces, along with two universal access parking spaces on Moyross Road.

Limerick City and County Council said that it has carried out an Appropriate Assessment Screening Report and has determined a that a full appropriate assessment is not required in respect of the proposed new development in Moyross.
