CASTLETROY’S Andrew McCormack has captured the prestigious Midland Scratch Cup at Carlow Golf Club.

He posted rounds of 75 and 70 to finish on five over par, three ahead of his nearest challenger, local Dylan Lambe.

In round one, McCormack shot 75 in wet and windy conditions to trail by two from Carlow pacesetters Lambe and Mikey Fenelon.

However, a brilliant level par 70 in round two gave McCormack his third scratch cup success in recent weeks.
