LIMERICK Film Lab announced its inaugural slate of projects developed by a cohort of Irish and Scottish production companies at the Edinburgh International Film Festival (EIFF).
Organised by Innovate Limerick through Film in Limerick, the regional film office for the Mid West of Ireland, and delivered with Screen Scotland, Picture NL, Screen Ireland, and Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board, the initiative brought together producers from three countries for a week of international collaboration, creative exchange, and industry networking.
The selected talent presenting their new features at EIFF include The Wayfinders’ Stephen Hall of Dark Day Pictures, Cynthia and Algorithm producers Copper Alley and Gravedigger producer Pius McGrath.
Paul C Ryan, regional film manager at Film in Limerick said: “Following the success of last month’s inaugural Limerick Film Lab, we’re proud to see our Irish and Scottish producers come together once again to present their projects at the Edinburgh International Film Festival.”
“This event, in collaboration with Enterprise Ireland Screen Scotland and EIFF, offers a unique platform to continue the creative dialogue that began in Limerick and to deepen the professional relationships that are forming between producers from both countries. The lab has already sparked exciting new connections, and EIFF provides the perfect platform to build on that momentum.”
Among the Irish features are The Crier, written by Limerick man Richard Lynch, where a banshee’s cry echoes through 1950s Ireland and a girl from the Travelling community races to uncover the truth behind her sister’s disappearance.
