TWO projects in Limerick are to benefit from capital grants awards of €271,404 set out for eight arts and culture organisations for upgrading and developing facilities.
Announced by Limerick TD and Minister for Culture, Communications, and Sport, Patrick O’Donovan, the funding sees the Hunt Museum to benefit to the amount of €34,324 and the Limerick Printmakers €14,790.
This funding is provided under the Cultural Capital Scheme, a €1.4m capital investment scheme focused on enhancing the existing stock of arts and culture centres throughout the country.
Limerick Minister Patrick O’Donovan welcomed this funding and urged those who may be eligible to consider applying as the scheme remains open.
“The scheme focuses on enhancing the existing stock of arts and culture centres throughout the country. In line with the government’s action on climate change, this scheme also welcomes projects that reduce an organisation’s carbon footprint as well as projects that provide additional capacity for artistic production,” Minister O’Donovan explained.
“I am pleased to announce this funding to these arts and culture organisations. Capital Schemes such as funding under Stream E of the Cultural Capital Scheme are integral to ensuring the preservation of arts and cultural facilities around the country.”
