A MAJOR milestone is being marked by the Thomond Toastmasters Club, who have been meeting at the Castletroy Park Hotel for an impressive 35 years.
As president John Ryan notes, “the club is extremely fortunate to have such an excellent meeting venue and are very appreciative of the support from the hotel over the years”.
“The club meets every second and fourth Thursday of the month and are passionate about helping members overcome nervousness, gain confidence, and master public speaking skills”.
Hotel manager Cyril Laffan conveyed huge congratulations to John and the entire Thomond Toastmasters community on the remarkable achievement of their 35 years.
“The Castletroy Park are honoured to have hosted the meetings and look forward to many more years of supporting the growth in communication and leadership skills,” stated Cyril.
But what exactly is Toastmasters? It’s not just about giving speeches; it’s a positive, supportive community where members learn and practice communication skills to tackle real life challenges – whether it’s acing a job interview, delivering a wedding speech, or simply feeling more confident in social situations. Guests are always welcome to attend, observe, and listen without any pressure to participate.
Over the years, members have joined to improve career prospects, overcome nerves, and build lasting connections. And with the welcoming atmosphere and interval chats over coffee, it’s a great way to meet new people too. Join in on Thursday September 11 at 8pm at the Castletroy Park Hotel and every second and fourth Thursday of the month. Guests and new members are always welcome and can email [email protected] for more information.
