THE Northstar Family Support Project will host “North Stars in their Eyes,” an evening of local entertainment at Na Piarsaigh GAA Club on Friday September 12 with doors opening at 7:30pm for an 8pm start.
The Limerick-based charity, which supports families affected by substance misuse across the region, has organised the fundraising event to continue its vital work in the community. Tickets are priced at £20 each and include three complimentary raffle entries.
“We have a great lineup of people on the night,” said Joe Slattery, coordinator of Northstar. The evening promises substantial prizes, including a 50-inch television, an overnight hotel stay, jewellery, and hampers.
Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis from the Northstar Family Support Project office at 28 John Street, Limerick (V94 K5N5), or by telephoning 061 459 260.
Established in 2010 by parents and community campaigners, Northstar emerged in response to growing concerns about drug-related crime and substance misuse affecting families on Limerick’s northside. The organisation works with families in a “respectful, compassionate, and non-judgmental manner,” offering interventions designed to empower families and provide hope for recovery.
The service has expanded from its original northside base to a city centre location, extending support to families throughout the Limerick region. The charity’s suite of interventions addresses the complex impact of substance misuse on family systems, filling a crucial gap in community support services.
Na Piarsaigh GAA Club is located at V94 K6C4.
