NUACHT Cúla4 returned for its third season on TG4 earlier in the week. The programme features the return of editor, producer, and newsreader Katelyn Hayes from Carrigkerry.
Katelyn, who studied maths and Irish as well as an MA in Media Studies at the University of Galway, has played a central role in shaping the success of Nuacht Cúla4 to date.
She grew up in West Limerick, attending Carrigkerry National School and Scoil Mhuire agus Íde in Newcastle West.
Katelyn has a strong grá for sport, having played soccer, ladies football, camogie, rounders, and athletics when she was younger.
Today, she continues that passion through sports commentary, particularly in ladies football, and last year she had the privilege of commentating from Croke Park.
Another local connection meanwhile, is in Áine Humphreys, from Meanus, who is among the team of new reporters joining the show this season.
She attended Crecora National School and Laurel Hill Coláiste before earning her undergraduate degree in Gaeilge and Music from University College Cork and her MA in Education from the University of Galway.
A talented musician, Áine plays the harp and has a grá for traditional Irish music. She enjoys attending events such as Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann and Oireachtas na Samhna.
Áine is also a dedicated sports fan, supporting the county hurling and football teams.
She played camogie with her local club and continued playing with the university team during her time in Montana.
Nuacht Cúla4 continues to provide engaging, relevant, and accessible news for younger audiences, helping to inform and inspire the next generation of Irish speakers.
The programme airs at 1.30pm and 5.30pm from Tuesday to Friday weekly.
