FOLLOWING last year’s triumphant sold-out performance, Limerick’s award-winning soprano Eve Stafford is returning to Fitzgerald’s Woodlands House Hotel & Spa with “Serenade at the Woodlands” – a Downton Abbey-inspired afternoon tea and concert experience on Sunday September 21at Fitzgerald’s Woodlands House Hotel & Spa, Adare.
The production marks Stafford’s debut venture into period-themed performance, inviting audiences to step into the elegance and romance of early 20th-century aristocratic life. Drawing inspiration from the beloved television series and films, the concert will feature a carefully curated programme of timeless classics that epitomise the glamour of the Downton era.
Stafford will be accompanied by acclaimed pianist Fiona Linnane and violinist Anne Phelan, who is celebrated for her work with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra. The trio will perform in the venue’s beautiful Fitzgerald Suite, with the musical programme complemented by a luxurious afternoon tea service.
Guests are encouraged to embrace the theme fully, with Stafford suggesting they “put on their pearls and Sunday best” for the immersive experience.
Speaking about her return to the Woodlands, Stafford expressed her enthusiasm for the new production: “Last year’s concert was such a magical day, and I was truly overwhelmed by the response. I’m thrilled to return with a new theme inspired by the world of Downton Abbey, and I can’t wait to share this special experience with the audience. I’m a big Downton fan and am having great fun curating my outfits!”
