THE Irish Blood Transfusion Service is urging people in Limerick to donate following the recent spell of hot weather, which has led to a noticeable drop in donations.
September is World Blood Cancer Month, raising awareness for leukemia, lymphomas, myeloma and related blood disorders.
Two clinics take place this month, the first at the Longcourt Hotel in Newcastle West on September 15 and 16 from 4.50pm to 8.10pm, and Caherdavin Greenhills Hotel on September 17 and September 18 from 4.20pm until 7.40pm.
“Demand from Irish hospitals has not slowed down,” said Alex O’Connor, IBTS recruitment executive.
“Your donation can help ensure patients continue to get the blood they urgently need.”
