POST-punk duo Dopamine Fix have released their stunning and haunting debut single ‘Welcome To The Sharktank’ via Galway’s Blowtorch Records.
The track merges post-punk grit with noir cinema shadows, creating what the band describes as “a soundtrack for the alienated and the awake”.ย
Recorded across Berlin, Coventry and Limerick, the single was produced and engineered by Mick Heffernan, known for his work with Gavin Friday, Howie B and Richard Russell. The duo, comprising Aidan Macnamara on vocals and guitars, and Eoin Devereux on synths, have crafted what they term “a mirror with teeth”.
The band’s manifesto makes clear this is not romantic escapism, stating definitively: “It is not about romantic love; it is not about escapism; it is certainly not about sharks.”
