Culture Night brings back Limerick’s beloved dance floors from the nineties for ultimate musical showdown

TWO of Limerick’s most iconic club nights are making a triumphant return this Culture Night, as Boogie Wonderland takes on Electric Dreams in what promises to be the city’s biggest 70s versus 80s silent disco battle ever.

The nostalgic face-off will see resident DJ King Flare resurrect the legendary Boogie Wonderland, the Saturday night sensation that once ruled the Theatre Royal. Famous for its eclectic mix where ABBA rubbed shoulders with The Supremes and the Specials, the night became synonymous with pure disco magic.

Going head-to-head will be Will Leahy’s Electric Dreams, the Friday night phenomenon that dominated the George Hotel Ballroom throughout the 1990s. From The Human League to Bananarama, and Madonna to Van Halen, Electric Dreams was the only night out worth styling your hair for, keeping all the decade’s tribes dancing until the early hours.

The family-friendly silent disco spectacular kicks off at 8pm this Friday at Wickham Way, offering music lovers the chance to choose their decade and dance the night away. With no tickets required, it’s a first-come, first-served celebration of Limerick’s rich clubbing heritage.
