LIMERICK City and County Council says it has a significant list of bridge structures that require bridge rehabilitation works.
In response to a question from Fine Gael councillor John Sheahan regarding the bridge in Glin at the Old Castle, the Council said that the selection of bridges for inclusion as part of the annual rehabilitation programme is determined on a priority basis.
“The bridge in Glin will be under consideration for inclusion in our 2026 bridge rehabilitation programme, however it must be noted that its delivery in 2026 will depend on approval of its inclusion by the Department of Transport, funding availability and its prioritisation of delivery against other bridge structures,” the Council said.
