This October, Irish Chamber Orchestra (ICO) turns up the heat with two unmissable musical experiences, one infused with Nordic passion, the other a celebration of Limerick’s cultural heartbeat.

Step into a world of searing romance, bold colours, and fierce storytelling as newly appointed Artistic Partner Henning Kraggerud brings his Nordic spirit to the fore at Whyte Recital Hall, RIAM Thursday October 16 and at The Model, Sligo on Friday October 17.

On Saturday October 18 at University Concert Hall, ICO celebrates 30 Years in Limerick city with a festival-style anniversary concert bursting with energy and surprises. Three decades, one city and endless music, this evening celebrates playfulness, lyricism, and fiery passion.

Micheál Ó Súilleabháin’s Must Be More Crispy brims with rhythmic wit, featuring Mel Mercier Percussion and Niall Vallely Concertina. ICO Youth joins forces with the orchestra and Henning Kraggerud for the first time, performing Henning’s own charming Little Suite in Old Style, as well as Piazzolla’s hauntingly beautiful Oblivion alongside Sam Perkin’s dazzling Inspirit.

The night crescendos with ICO’s rendition of Atterberg’s Suite No. 3 and a grand, orchestral blaze of Grieg’s String Quartet in G minor, a storm of Nordic fire to light up Limerick’s skyline. Tickets on www.irishchamberorchestra.com
