WITH holders Doon and Na Piarsaigh waiting in the semi-final wings, their next opposition in the Limerick Senior Hurling Championship will be decided through a couple of quarter-finals this Sunday.

Tier two winners Monaleen face Kilmallock in Bruff (4.30pm) while earlier (2pm), surprise qualifiers Adare bump into Ballybrown at Páirc na nGael, Askeaton.

On rankings, Kilmallock and Ballybrown should both advance but will face stern examinations at the weekend.

Monaleen are far better this season and have serious performers in Bryan Canny, Ronan Lyons, Joseph Fitzgerald, Luke Murphy, Matthew Fitzgerald, Dara Ferland, and Donnacha Ó Dálaigh

2021 champions Kilmallock have experience through Conor Hanley-Clarke, Robbie Egan, Mark O’Loughlin, Robbie Hanley, Conor Staunton, Micheál Houlihan, Oisín O’Reilly, and Shane O’Brien.

Na Piarsaigh await the winners.

Verdict: Kilmallock.

Adare have improved greatly of late, and can call upon such useful players as Joe Sweeney, Ronan Connolly, John Fitzgibbon, David O’Mahony, Declan Hannon, Brendan O’Connor, and Patrick Kearney.

Hannon is an injury concern after picking up a knock in the narrow win over Newcastle West.

Two-time winners (1989 and 1991) Ballybrown are goal-hungry, with a massive 13 to their credit in the campaign. Those capable of big scores are Aidan O’Connor, Barry Adams, and Brian Griffin, while others of note are Ned Quinn, Colin Coughlan, Ross Kenny, and Mikey Kiely.

The victors will progress to face current kingpins Doon.

Verdict: Ballybrown.

The semi-finals are listed for a fortnights time and the final for the Gaelic Grounds on Sunday October 19.

For the remainder of the championship, all fixtures are a ‘winner on the day’ situation, as there exists the possibility of extra time and penalties.

2025 Limerick SHC betting (BOYLE Sports): Na Piarsaigh 4/6, Doon 13/8, Kilmallock 8/1, Ballybrown 12/1, Monaleen 25/1, Adare 50/1.
