Cost of second-hand semi-detached homes in Limerick on the rise

THE price of the average second-hand three-bed semi-detatched home in Limerick City rose by three per cent in the last three months to €340,000.

That’s according to a recent national survey by Real Estate Alliance (REA). REA said this represents an eight per cent rise in average property prices in the city in the last year.

In the county, price rose by 10 per cent (1.8 per cent in the past three months) to €275,000.

REA said homes in the city are currently reaching sale agreed in as little as three weeks, with 75 per cent of sales recorded to first time buyers.

REA further noted that 60 per cent of sales in Limerick in the past three months are from landlords exiting the housing market.
