CASTLECONNELL Railway Station is home to a colourful new mural celebrating the wildlife and and biodiversity of the local area.

The new artwork was created as part of the Sรญoltaย Glasa AR Trail initiative, a collaboration between Iarnrรณd ร‰ireann, Castleconnell Tidy Towns, and artist Ana Colomer.

The mural merges art, education, and augmented reality (AR) elements, created by University of Limerick Professor Mark Marshall.

The station is the starting point for an AR trail of six stops highlighting historical or natural landmarks within the beautiful heritage village of Castleconnell.ย  Each stop features a short video, hand drawn animations of native plants or animals, and interactive text designed to deepen understanding of biodiversity and sustainability.
