TO round off Limerickโ€™s European Week of Sport, Freestyle Football Irish Champion Sam Madden will showcase his skills in the city this Saturday.

Established as the best in his sport, Madden is a live shows specialist and will perform in the city centre in the morning and Arthurโ€™s Quay in the afternoon.

He has won the last three Irish Championships in freestyle football, and is a regular performer at home, the UK, and across the world.

Limerick joins communities across Europe for European Week of Sport 2025, withย the local Sports Partnershipโ€™s busy programme of activities across the city and county.

Now in its 10th year, the initiative encourages people of all ages to get active, with this yearโ€™s themeย Move More, Scroll Less.

Activities on offer includeย come-and-tryย events in skateboarding, golf driving range, rock climbing, indoor rowing, and kayaking.

Outdoor workout sessions include the popularย Park Lifeย gentle outdoor sessions, focusing on balance, flexibility and strength, and will take place this week at Adare Town Park and Oโ€™Brien Park, Clare Street.

As Irelandโ€™s National Walking Week falls around the same time, lots of walks have been organised with an open invitation for anyone to join in fromย activator walkingย sessions (using activator walking poles) in Rathkeale, Mungret Park and Doon GAA Club, community walks in Moyross and Kilmallock, Active Cities Walk on the Condell Road, and the Three Bridges Walk to celebrate National Walking Day this Sunday.

โ€œEuropean Week of Sport is about celebrating movement in all its forms,โ€ย saidย Pat Quigley of Limerick Sports Partnership.ย โ€œThis yearโ€™s theme Move More, Scroll Less is a timely reminder to step away from screens and enjoy real-world connection and activity.โ€

โ€œWe are delighted to welcome freestyle football champion Sam Madden to Limerick, to top off a great week in the city and county.โ€
