Autumn/Winter Relaunch

Twilight Thursdays offers a diverse evening programme with live entertainment, food experiences, family fun, and inclusive events, plus special offers from local businesses to help you enjoy Limerick after dark.

At the relaunch for Autumn/Winter in The Copper Rooms, organisers presented a cheque for โ‚ฌ1,423.36 to homeless outreach charity Novas. The funds were raised thanks to generous contributions from the public during a previous Twilight Thursdaysโ€™ silent disco hosted in partnership with Spin SouthWest and CWB Productions Limited.

Twilight Thursdays is made possible through the support of Mayor of Limerick, John Moran, and generous funding from individual Limerick City and County Councillors via their discretionary General Municipal Allocation (GMA) fund.

Mayor of Limerick, John Moran commented:

โ€œAs winter approaches and the evenings grow darker, Twilight Thursdays offers a bright spot on the calendar, a chance to come together, share experiences, and make memories. Iโ€™m proud to support this initiative, which has quickly become a monthly highlight thanks to council staff and the enthusiasm of local businesses and the public. I especially encourage students returning to Limerick, or arriving for the first time, to join us on September 25th and be part of the movement to reinvigorate our cityโ€™s night-time economy.โ€

Prรญomh Chomhairleoir, Cllr Catherine Slattery added:

โ€œTwilight Thursdays has already made a big impact in Limerick, bringing life and energy to the city centre after dark. There will be a new audience this month with students returning to campuses and I am certain they will find much to enjoy. Itโ€™s a brilliant way to explore the city, meet new people, and feel part of the wider community.โ€

Director General of Limerick City and County Council, Dr Pat Daly commented:

โ€œThe creativity and dedication of the staff at Limerick City and County Council has built something truly special for our city with Twilight Thursdays. Iโ€™m looking forward to seeing how it continues to grow this Autumn and Winter. Itโ€™s fantastic to see Limerick come alive after dark, with events that bring people together and showcase the best of our local culture and community.โ€

Each of the councillors contributing funds to Twilight Thursdays were acknowledged at the relaunch event, including, Cllr Elena Secas, Cllr Pauric Real, Cllr Sharon Benson, Cllr Joe Leddin, Cllr Maria O’Donoghue, Cllr Ursula Gavan and Cllr Olivia O’Sullivan.

Craig Power, Night-Time Economy Adviser at Limerick City and County Council, commented:

โ€œWeโ€™re incredibly grateful to Mayor John Moran and our Councillors for backing Twilight Thursdays with additional funding. Their support, along with fantastic buy-in from local businesses and the general public, has helped us grow this initiative into something truly special for Limerick. With more than 50 events and offers lined up, the upcoming edition on September 25th is a fantastic showcase of what our city has to offer after dark.โ€
