THE Limerick Fire and Emergency service responded to a flooding incident at The Strand Hotel this past Saturday (September 27).
It is understood a number of units from the fire services attended the scene, observed wearing breathing apparatus.
The flooding left some areas of the hotel in need of repair and restoration works, which will be ongoing over the coming weeks.
A spokesperson for The Strand Hotel said that the hotel experienced a “flooding incident” which was “promptly brought under control by our facilities and management team, with the assistance of the Limerick fire brigade”.
“It is business as usual, but there will be some temporary adjustments to our food and beverage offerings over the coming weeks while we carry out necessary repairs and restoration work,” the spokesperson added.
General manager of the hotel, Stephen O’Connor, said “we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate our customers’ understanding and patience during this time”.
“The safety and comfort of our guests remain our top priority, and we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of service throughout.”
