A NIGHT of โ€˜ceol agus craicโ€™ is promised at Record Room, Catherine Street, this Friday October 3.

Limerick musicians are fundraising for Catherine Connolly’s presidential campaign ahead of the election in late October.

Performing on the night are folk punk act Shroomie, Emo singer songwriter Eoin Ryan, newcomers Nรณsanna Neamhspleรกcha and the eclectic Codeye.

Shroomie will open playing his rough, deeply personal songs while lathered in clown makeup, later performing as the lead singer of Codeye.

Eoin Ryan will perform his gut-wrenching emo melodies featuring some new songs from his upcoming EP. Eoin entered the Limerick scene as bassist for the punk band โ€™50 Foot Womanโ€™ and currently plays guitar for local group BitCrush. BitCrush will perform at Pharmacia on October 9 at 8 pm.

Nรณsanna Neamhspleรกcha will perform with a guitarist/singer accompanied by a violin and harp.

The headline act is 4-piece Codeye, who will take to the stage for their first gig in Limerick since 2022. Following their sweaty performance at the Merton Toad Fest this Summer in Southampton, they are looking forward to playing on their home turf.

Catherine Connolly, the first woman to hold the position of Leas-Ceann Comhairle, has received backing from Sinn Fรฉin, the Social Democrats, the Labour Party, the Green Party, People Before Profit, and several other independent members of the Oireachtas. The fundraiser has been organised by LimerickForConnolly and is appealing for volunteers to help with canvassing efforts.
