Panto returns to UCH for 14th year
The University Concert Hall’s beloved Christmas pantomime returns this festive season with a sparkling production of Cinderella, proudly presented by Specsavers Limerick, producer Robert C Kelly, and UCH.
Multi-award-winning country music star Cliona Hagan makes her pantomime debut alongside a stellar cast featuring RTÉ Jnr favourite John Sharpson, legendary Limerick dame Myles Breen, Voice of Ireland winner Keith Hanley, returning favourite Esther Brady in the title role, and newcomers Chris Currid and local social media sensation Stuart Mackey.
The production promises spectacular sets, fabulous costumes, chart-topping hits, and plenty of laugh-out-loud moments from the creative team behind last year’s smash-hit Mother Goose, led by writer and director Debbie Kiernan and choreographer Jody Ennis.
“We’re excited to celebrate the 14th year of our legendary Panto,” says Sinéad Hope, Director of UCH. “This tradition has become a holiday favourite, bringing families from Limerick, the Midwest, and beyond together for an unforgettable experience.”
Continuing their commitment to accessibility, the Panto For All initiative provides free tickets to families across the Midwest who might otherwise be unable to attend through charitable organisations. The programme has already welcomed more than 430 people from charities and community groups in 2024.
The initiative recently earned recognition as a shortlisted nominee for the 33rd Business to Arts Awards.
“This recognition highlights our commitment to being deeply embedded in the community,” said Sinéad Clohessy, Store Director at Specsavers Limerick.
The Specsavers Limerick Panto Cinderella promises to be the perfect Christmas treat for the whole family.
Cinderella runs at University Concert Hall from December 15 to January 11. Tickets from €22.50. See www.uch.ie for further details or call the Box Office at 061-331549
