
GARRYOWEN are unbeaten after two starts in Division 1B of the AIl following an exciting 17 points apiece draw at Queen’s University.
Max Clein, Des Fitzgerald and Will Hayes scored tries for the Limerick side and Tom Wood kicked a conversion.
In 1A, a slow start saw Young Munster lose 15-8 at home to St Mary’s College.
The visitors led 12-0 at the interval and a try from Hubert Gilvary and a Shane O’Leary penalty was not enough for the home side.
In 2A, Old Crescent made it two wins from two with an 18-10 away victory at Cashel.
Stephen Kiely, Aaron Cosgrove and Dan Hurley were Crescent’s try scorers, and Jeff Williams kicked a penalty.
Elsewhere, Shannon suffered defeat when they were defeated at MU Barnhall at Parsonstown 24-17.
Cian McCann and Matt Te Pou were Shannon’s try scorers; both were converted by Cillian O’Connor and Jamir Gavin kicked a penalty.
In 2B, UL Bohemian remain unbeaten after they defeated Skerries 24-17 at the UL Arena. Killian Dineen, Paul Clancy, Jordan Mills and Jack Considine scored tries for the winners and two were converted by Oisín Fagan.
Meanwhile, Thomond are now top in 2C, following their impressive 29-5 away win at Ballyclare.
Sam Birrane, Ryain Ahern, Jake Connolly and Colin Slater scored tries for Thomond and Evan Cusack kicked three conversions and a penalty.
Bruff were 28-19 home winners against Monkstown: Paul Collins, Kieran O’Dwyer, Patricio Neheun and Andrew Byrne were Bruff’s try scorers and all four were converted by Collins.
And, UL Bohemian were easy 44-17 winners against Railway Union at Annacotty in the Women’s All-Ireland League.
Alana McInerney scored a hat trick of tries, skipper Chloe Pearce two, and Catriona Finn, Eilis Cahill and Kate Flannery got one each. Finn also kicked two conversions.
