A FOOT chase led to an arrest and the seizure of almost €1,000 in suspected crack cocaine in Limerick City.
While on beat patrol this past Sunday (October 5), Gardaí from the Mayorstone Community Policing Unit saw a man “behaving suspiciously in the Historical Quarter of Limerick City”.
A statement on the An Garda Síochána Limerick Facebook page said that the man “fled on foot” but was apprehended after Gardaí took chase.
On searching the man, according to the online post, Gardaí found 22 “deal bags” of suspected crack cocaine with an estimated street value of over €700.

The man was arrested at the scene and the drugs were seized and sent for analysis, which will determine the course of the investigation.
