MARY Immaculate College has been presented with a Bronze Athena Swan award for commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion shown by its faculty of education. This is the third such award for MIC.

The Athena Swan Charter was introduced in 2015 to support equality, diversity, and inclusion in higher education. Reflecting on the award, MIC Dean of Education, Emer Ring, said that “this achievement is the result of an outstanding collective effort by colleagues across the faculty, whose commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion has been unwavering.

The award acknowledges the progress we have made, but it also challenges us to continue embedding equality, diversity, and inclusion into every aspect of our work.”
