New music: Late Night Empires

Limerick indie pop/rock trio Late Night Empires have released their new EP, I Dreamed A Life Part 2, featuring three tracks that continue the narrative established in last year’s Part 1.

The lead single, ‘Satellites’, examines society’s relationship with advanced technology, questioning the dual nature of innovations such as satellites, artificial intelligence, GPS and social media. While these technologies have been celebrated for their convenience and ability to connect communities, the track highlights their darker applications in warfare and population control.

The song directly references the ongoing conflict in Palestine, particularly the targeting of medical workers, journalists and families, events broadcast globally yet seemingly beyond the influence of ordinary citizens.

Late Night Empires comprises Paul O’Riordan, NJ Dubhlainte and Rob Carey, lifelong friends who have collaborated on three previous albums under different project names: Newland Gesture, Red Eskimo and Changing Trains
