LIMERICK’S regeneration areas will continue to be supported to the tune of €3million over the next three years.
That’s according to Minister for Housing, Local Government, and Heritage James Browne. Speaking in the Dáil, Minister Browne said that generation areas, including Moyross, Ballinacurra Weston, St Mary’s Park, and Southhill, were supported through the Economic and Social Intervention Fund (ESIF) with €36m since the creation of the Limerick Regeneration Framework Implementation Plan in 2014.
The Minister explained that while the plan concluded in 2023 and it was “not intended such activities would be supported indefinitely”, €3m will be provided to Limerick across the next three years, €1.5m in 2026, €1m in 2027, and €500,000 in 2028.
Meanwhile, Limerick Council is “expected” to engage with other relevant funders.
