TWO men appeared before a court in Limerick on Friday (October 17) charged with threatening to kill another man during an aggravated burglary last January.
The two accused, Michael Sheehan (37), of Cliona Park, Moyross, and Darragh Manning (25), of Clyde Hill Mews, St Alphonsus Street, Limerick, were arrested by Gardaà and charged before Limerick District Court with four offences.
Each accused was charged before the court with threatening to kill or cause serious harm to Erol Ibrahim at Dooradoyle, Limerick, on January 21, 2025, contrary to Section 5 of the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act.
The two accused were also charged with assault causing harm to Mr Ibrahim, at the same location on the same date, contrary to Section 3 of the Non Fatal Offences Against the Person Act.
Both accused are each also facing a charge of aggravated burglary, contrary to Section 13, of the Criminal Justice (Theft and Fraud Offences) Act, 2001, as well as a charge of causing criminal damage in respect of the same alleged incident.
Sergeant Sean Murray, of Roxboro Road Garda Station, told the court that the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) had directed that the two accused men face a trial on indictment.
Neither of the accused applied for bail.
If the two accused contest the charges, they will face a trial on indictment before a jury at the Limerick Circuit Criminal Court, the DPP has directed.
Mr Sheehan and Mr Manning were remanded in custody to appear before Limerick District Court again on Tuesday (October 21).
