Man seriously injured following alleged hit-and-run in Castleconnell

GARDAÍ are searching for the driver of a car involved in an alleged hit-and-run, in which a pedestrian was seriously injured in County Limerick this Sunday morning (October 19).

The injured male was struck by a vehicle at a car park in Castleconnell at around 11am this morning.

The injured man was rushed by ambulance from the scene, located about 16km from Limerick City, to University Hospital Limerick, where he is understood to be in a serious condition.

The car park, located in the centre of the village, remained sealed off as Gardaí conducted a technical examination of the scene.

Gardaí were harvesting CCTV for nearby businesses and homes.

A major search was continuing for the vehicle involved and the driver of the car.

Gardaí remained at the scene and a number of investigating Gardaí also traveled to UHL where the injured man was being treated.
