A WOMAN in her 70s lost her life in a tragic car crash in county Limerick on Saturday (October 18).
The fatal two-car collision happened on the N21 at Templeglantine West in County Limerick at around 11.50am on Saturday morning, Gardaí confirmed in a statement.
Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene following reports of the tragic crash.
According to Gardaí, the driver one of one the cars, a woman in her 70s, was rushed to University Hospital Limerick where she was subsequently pronounced deceased.

The female passenger of the second car, also aged in her 70s, was taken to University Hospital Kerry, where she was being treated for injuries that Gardaí believe to be non-life-threatening.
A forensic examination of the scene was to be carried out by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators, Gardaí confirmed, adding that the road is currently open following the fatal crash.
Now, Gardaí are appealing to members of the public who may have been travelling in the area and have any information, including dashcam footage of the crash, to come forward.
Gardaí are looking to speak to anyone travelling in the N21 Templeglantine West area between 11am and 12pm on Saturday to contact them.
“Road users with camera footage (including dashcam) from that section of road during the relevant period are also asked to make it available to investigating officers,” the Garda statement read.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Bruff Garda Station on 061 382 940, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.”
