MORE THAN 150 Irish artists will receive up to €5,000 to develop their practice thanks to funding from the Arts Council.

That’s according to Culture Minister Patrick O’Donovan, who announced the funding under the Arts Council’s Agility Award. Five artists in Limerick will be funded under this year’s award, to a combined investment of €25,000.

“Artists are at the heart of Ireland’s cultural life, and it’s vital that we support them from the earliest stages of their development.

The Agility Award reflects our commitment to ensuring that creativity is nurtured throughout the country,” Minister O’Donovan said.
