THERE was tons of fun to be had at the Catherine McAuley School last week as ghosts and ghouls turned out for the Halloween party.

Students took part in Thriller dances, fancy dress, and even a poetry reading.

A special poem was read out by students of the school at the bash, as below.

Halloween is Just Around the Corner

Halloween is just around the corner
And it didn’t take me long to choose
A costume so terrifying
It’s sure to make the RTÉ news.

I bought the frightening outfit
At the spooky Halloween shop.
I am confident that when you spy me,
It will make your heart stop.

My costume may leave you shocked.
My face is the colour of gory green paint.
You might yell, shiver, and shake.
Then feel lightheaded and faint.

However, I won’t be dressing
As you believe I will.
I will not be a wizard
Or a devil that sets out to kill.

I won’t be like a lion,
Monster, or a dinosaur.
Or even a wild bulldog
That gives a barking roar.

I will not be a zombie
Or some cruel, wild creature.
This year, I’ll be absolutely terrible,
I am dressing up as a teacher.
