Limerick Tidy Towns volunteers make clean awards sweep

LIMERICK Tidy Towns struck gold thanks to the hard work and dedication of the volunteers who get out and make it happen.

Limerick City and County Council congratulated Limerick City Tidy Towns after they were awarded a gold medal in the 2025 SuperValu Tidy Towns Competition, moving up from a silver in 2024.

Adare Tidy Towns, the Council explained, continued to show leadership by retaining itโ€™s Gold Medal award and Kilmeedy has been acknowledged with the Endeavour Award for most improved performance.

A statement from Limerick City and County Council said the local authority is “delighted to celebrate the 57 localities across the county who participated in this yearโ€™s competition”.

Among the Limerick winntes were are: Limerick City โ€“ Gold Medal (up from Silver in 2024); Adare โ€“ County Winner and Gold Medal (retained); Galbally โ€“ County Second and Silver Medal (retained); Castleconnell โ€“ County Third and Silver Medal (retained); Newcastle West โ€“ Bronze Medal (retained); Ardpatrick โ€“ Bronze Medal (retained); and Kilmeedy โ€“ Endeavour Award.

In the schools category, Scoil Dean Cussen in Bruff was named Tiny Tidy Towns Regional Winner for the South West and Mid West Region, receiving a โ‚ฌ1,000 prize.

Mayor John Moran said he wanted to “congratulate every single community across Limerick who took part in this yearโ€™s Tidy Towns competition. Your hard work, creativity, and commitment to making your local areas better for everyone is truly inspiring.”
