
OVER 1,000 young Limerick people have achieved their Gaisce Award over the past 12 months, the same year the programme prepares to celebrate 40 years.
And new research from Maynooth University highlights the benefits the programme offers for future employment, helping young people a number of soft skills sought by employers.
Resilience, communication, teamwork, motivation, and problem-solving are among the top skills young people develop during the Gaisce programme, which is one of few non-formal qualifications that may further enhance employment opportunities.
Last year saw record levels of participation in the National Youth Award, with the highest ever number registrations (26,737) and award completions (15,621), through a record 792 delivery partners.
