THE Limerick Garda Division has recorded the highest number of firework offences in Ireland, outside of Dublin, in the past 20 years.
That’s according to data compiled and published by the Central Statistics Office (CSO), which shows 336 firework-related offences recorded across Limerick city and County in the two decades between 2004 and the second quarter of 2025.
The CSO stats show the biggest spikes in firework offences taking place between October and December.
Outside of Dublin (with 1,021 offences since 2004), the Limerick Garda Division recorded more offences than divisions in any other Irish county, far ahead nearby Cork (230), Tipperary (129), Clare (102), Kerry (115), Waterford (124), and Galway (203).
Despite this, according to EnergencyEfficiency.ie, there has been a massive decrease in firework-related offences over the past 15 years.
