SIX Limerick projects have received funding of over €650,000 under the Community Safety Fund.

The fund redirects proceeds of crime seized by the Criminal Assets Bureau and An Garda Síochána back into communities.

The successful local projects are Moyross Community Enterprise Centre, Our Lady of Lourdes Community Service Group, Engage in Education, Dance Limerick Hub, Doras Luimni and Extern Ireland.

The fund will support 42 community safety projects across the country, double the number of projects first funded in 2022.

Welcoming the news, Minister Niall Collins said “each of these projects will have real impacts in our community, particularly disadvantaged areas”.
