
GARDAÍ seized almost €3,000 worth of suspected cannabis after chasing an e-biker through the streets of Limerick’s historical quarter.
A post on the An Garda Síochána Limerick Facebook page said that Mayorstone Community Gardaí spotted a man on an e-bike “acting suspiciously in Limerick’s historical quarter”.
Gardaí said the cyclist made attempts to get away, but he was “pursued and apprehended” a short time later by officers who proceeded to search him under drugs legislation.
Gardaí said the cyclist was “found to have had a large quantity of suspected cannabis” worth an estimated €2,800 street value.
The cyclist was arrested and detained at Henry Street Garda Station.
Gardaí said an analysis on the suspected drugs will determine the course of the investigation.
