Limerick recognised in prestigious Green Flag awards

LIMERICK was striking towards the green this past week after winning multiple local awards for parks recognised in the prestigious 2025 Green Flag Awards, announced by An Taisce – The National Trust for Ireland.

Mungret Park received its first Green Flag Award. Adare Town Park retained the Green Flag status,  along with The People’s Park in Limerick City.

In the Green Heritage Site Accreditation, Lough Gur Lakeshore Park and Visitor Centre was recognised for its unique historical and cultural significance.

Páirc Cois Féile / Abbeyfeale Town Park, under the stewardship of Abbeyfeale Community Leisure, was another Green Flag winner this year.

The Green Flag Community Award was awarded to Abbeyfeale Biodiversity Park, managed by Abbeyfeale Community Council and Abbeyfeale Tidy Towns.
