Council seize abandoned horse from Raheen

Abandoned horses seized by the Council, if not claimed by their owner within five days, are re-homed to shelters outside of Limerick in accordance with the 1996 Control of Horses Act.

AN ABANDONED horse was seized from the Raheen area earlier this month.

A statement from Limerick City and County Council confirmed that the local authority seized the animal from Raheen Gardens on November 8.

According to the Council, the horse was a 7-9-month-old male pony.

The Council statement explained that the owners or keepers of the abandoned animal are not known.
