
FAMED Athlunkard Boat Club will host a Photo Exhibition of its storied social and sporting images at the Peopleโs Park Museum, Pery Square.
It will open this Tuesday, 6pm, and continue daily, 10am to 6pm, to Friday (December 2-5), and features wonderful scenes from over the years.
Admission is free.
The exhibition will be launched by Athlunkardโs first International
Rowers from 1985 Maxine and Claire Murphy.
This special event will showcase more than 125 years of the clubโs history and heritage, and above all, the many Limerick people linked to Athlunkard across the years.
Athlunkard is one of the oldest and most decorated rowing clubs and the range of photos tell the story of the many people linked to the club, spanning from 1899 to the present day, representing over a century of local and club history.
Among those who helped create this wonderful showcase are Caron Tierney, Sinรฉad Kiely, Cara Kennedy, Stephen Griffin and William OโNeill.
The event is supported by the Heritage Council of Ireland and Limerick Civic Trust.
