SIX horses were seized in the space of two days across the city and county last week.
That’s according to a statement from Limerick Council, which explained that, on November 20, three horses were seized from the Lee Estate in the city.
On the same day, two horses were seized from St Mary’s Park. Two days previous, on November 18, one horse was seized from Carrowgar in Newcastle West.
According to the Council, the owners or keepers of the abandoned animals are not known.

Abandoned horses seized by the Council, if not claimed by their owner within five days, are re-homed to shelters outside of Limerick in accordance with the 1996 Control of Horses Act.
