A STATUS YELLOW wind warning has been issued for Limerick this coming Tuesday (December 9).
Met Éireann issued the warning this Sunday, with expectations of “very strong and gusty southerly winds with gales possible near the coasts”.
The weather service also warned of “increased flood risk in costal areas due to coincidence with very high spring tides”.
Possible impacts of the storm, Met Éireann said, may include difficult travel conditions, flooding of low-lying coastal areas, wave overtopping, displacement of debris and loose objects.
Outdoor events may also be impacted by the Status Yellow wind warning.
The warning has been issued for the entire country, coming into place at 3am on Tuesday and lasting until 9pm.
A separate Status Yellow rain warning was issued for Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Cork, Kerry, Tipperary, and Waterford, coming into effect at 9pm on Monday night and lasting until 9am on Tuesday morning.
